Earlier this month on September 18, a tornado warning was issued for an area north of Moose Mountain Provincial Park, with further study showing that two tornadoes actually touched down in the area.

The Northern Tornadoes Project tracked and studied the aftereffects of these tornadoes, meeting with people who had property damaged by the tornadoes.

The first community they looked at was in the Vandura area, which saw an EF1 tornado overhead starting at 4:40 p.m.

Receiving a report from locals they found damage to a home, trees, and a grain bin at a rural property with no injuries.

That was followed by an NTP ground and drone survey from September 19-20, documenting the already reported damage and additional damage to trees and a home.

NTP estimated the maximum wind speed at 155 km/h, a track length of 9.39 km, and a maximum path width of 310m.

A second tornado would later develop near Poplar Grove, causing EF1 damage starting at 5:05 p.m.

Witnesses captured photos of the tornado near Poplar Grove, with tree damage and no injuries reported.

NTP also did a ground and drone survey from September 19-20, taking a look at the reported damage and finding additional tree damage, destroyed cattle sheds, and damage to fences.

As well satellite imagery showed potential crop damage by the tornado, with an investigation still pending.
