As the summer leaves turn to vibrant fall colours, we’ve reached the exciting conclusion of our September Perfect Pet Contest!
After another amazing month of submissions, we are thrilled to announce that Hazel is the September Perfect Pet winner! Hazel, an 11-month-old Shepherd/Pit Bull cross, was adopted by her family from the Regina Humane Society at the end of 2023. Her owner, Angela, shared that Hazel has fit seamlessly into their household from day one, forming a strong bond with her fur siblings. She described Hazel as incredibly smart, affectionate, and caring, with a deep love for cuddling, running around the yard, and playing fetch and tug-of-war.
Hazel's favourite activities also include walks, visits to the dog park, playcare, and attending trick training classes, where she quickly picks up new tricks once she understands what is expected of her. Angela, who fosters dogs through a rescue, notes that Hazel has shown kindness and comfort to these foster pets, allowing them to cuddle with her and playing with them whenever they need it. Hazel has brought immense joy to her family, and it was "love at first sight" when they met.
