Lilah and Watson Teixeira local sibling pair put their love for animals into action, raising over $100 for the Estevan Humane Society through a heartwarming initiative.

“We raised a lot of money, and we got them a scratching post and some toys for the kitties,” said Leila proudly sharing their efforts.

The dynamic duo created candy bags and sold juice boxes to raise the funds. Their motivation was simple: a love for the animals at the Humane Society and a desire to make a difference.

“We just love the dogs and cats. They need a home, and we really want to help them,” they shared, underscoring their passion for supporting the shelter's efforts.

In addition to the money raised, the siblings learned valuable lessons about community and the importance of helping others. Inspired by their success, they are already planning to set up shop again next summer, this time with the help of their cousin.

Thanks to their creativity and compassion, the Estevan Humane Society now has a few extra supplies—and the community has two young role models to look up to.
