A former Swift Current Bronco is facing some potential disciplinary action by the NHL for his actions Wednesday night toward another Bronco alumni.
Tampa Bay Lightning forward Conor Geekie is slated to have a hearing with the Department of Player Safety today after leaving the bench on a legal line change for the purpose of starting an altercation.
Geekie went directly at another former Swift Current Bronco and Florida Panthers forward Josh Davies during the second period of a Panthers 2-1 win.
The Strathclair, Man. product went after Davies in retaliation to his big open-ice hit on Victor Hedman three minutes prior.
"Whether it's training camp or not, everyone's got each other's backs," Geekie said post-game. "I think it was a fight or flight moment and like I said, I wasn't letting him get away."
