The southeast could see a bit of weather tonight which would bring some rain and warmth into what has been a chilly fall week.
A Colorado low is on the horizon, bringing the usual precipitation and warmer air that's usually associated with heavy, wet snow in the winter.
This system will spare the southeast from the worst, explains Environment Canada Meteorologist Danielle Desjardins.
"We've got a low-pressure system developing over southern Alberta. It is kind of a corporate type system. It's going to track quickly across the prairies and so that's going to bring our chance of precipitation to the southeast corner of Saskatchewan. But the bulk of the precipitation will actually fall over central and northern portions of the province."
"Ahead of the system, we're getting a surge of warm air, which is going to keep the overnight lows pretty warm, much warmer than it was last night. So we're looking at lows around 10°."
The cold will be coming back tomorrow as the Colorado low leaves and winds pick up drastically.
Desjardins says that the rain should be all gone by then, avoiding any chance of freezing over and delivering the first ice of the season.
"The chance of precipitation will be during the day on Saturday. There isn't much precipitation that's going to fall over the southern portions of the province, so hopefully it's going to dry up before morning."
That may not be the case when you go further north so Desjardins advises people to keep an eye out if they're on the road.
"As you head further north, where there's we're expecting more accumulations, that's less likely to dry up before the morning. So there is a chance that you could get a little bit of freezing, but in the South, I think it's going to stay relatively dry, so less chance down there."
While more northern areas of the province have seen their first snowfall of the season Desjardins says it'll be a while before the southeast sees any of that particular precipitation.
"There is a chance of mixed precipitation over the extreme northern sections of the province. However, there is warm enough air with this system that we are not expecting any snow over the central and southern sections. So a chance of mixed precipitation over the north, but it's going to fall all as rain in the South."
