Temperatures are not sticking around the seasonal averages as this week's heat is coming back into the southeast.
Temperatures are expected to shoot up into the mid-20s following a weekend with seasonal coolness and intense winds.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Danielle Desjardins says that the upcoming weather will be very summer-like for the season
"We are expecting seasonal and actually above seasonal temperatures for next week. Just to give you a reference point, normal daytime highs right now are 15° and a low of 0. So with temperatures in the low to mid 20s forecast for next week, that's well above average and we are expecting that for the first half of October."
That heat will be joined by uninterrupted sunshine as Desjardins says they're forecasting a clear week to go along with the heat.
"Other than this weekend, with the system tracking through, we aren't looking at any big systems for the next week or over southern Saskatchewan. Actually, there is a little system that will track across the north looks like possibly next weekend, but nothing in the South."
While the surge in warmth might make it feel like summer during the days Desjardins says that nighttime temperatures will be much closer to the usual fall climate.
"So just at this time of year, there's less moisture. So those overnight lows do dip quite low, relatively speaking compared to the summer. We're also getting less sunlight. So, yeah, just less warming overall and so that's what's causing the overnight lows to dip towards the freezing mark."
