Wind warning in effect with heavy winds expected this weekend in the southeast

Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for the southeast area with those expected to whip through the area over the weekend.

Winds are currently gusting up to 50 km/h and are expected to rise over the rest fo the day.

That culminates into heavy winds tomorrow afternoon likely to reach up to and over 90 km/h.

Environment Canada reminds people that heavy winds can cause severe damage to buildings and other structures, along with potentially throwing loose objects at dangerous speeds.

They also remind everyone that high winds can create power and other utility outages in some areas.
