The Blackfalds Bulldogs are still looking for their first win of the BCHL season after a hard-fought 2-1 loss in Cranbrook Friday night.

Kaslo Ferner opened up the scoring at 6:08 of the second period with his fourth goal of the season.

The Bulldogs would tie it up when Joey Melo found the back of the net at 8:07 of the third.

Sammy Hynes netted the game-winner for the Bucks with less than six minutes remaining in the final frame.

Blackfalds goalie Waylon Esche stopped 25 of 27 shots while Cranbrook goalie Jaden Cholette went on to stop 28 of 29.

The Bulldogs were 0-for-3 on the power play. Cranbrook was 0 for 2 with the man advantage.

With the loss, Blackfalds' record drops to 0-4 on the season. 

The Bulldogs are back in action tonight in Brooks to take on the Bandits. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
