The regular season is beginning to wind for high school football leagues in the area, with playoffs just around the corner.
In Thursday’s action, the Watrous Wildcats will welcome in the Assiniboia Rockets. The two teams are tied for second spot in the standings at 2-2.
This will be the second time Watrous and Assiniboia will meet this season, with the Wildcats earning a 77-46 road win against the Rockets back on September 6.

The Wynyard Bears will be in action when they host Southey Screaming Eagles. Wynyard is second spot in the conference (3-1) while Southey is first place (4-0). On September 19, Southey defeated Wynyard 42-8.
The Wakaw Warriors will put their perfect record (3-0) on the line when they welcome in the Creighton Kodiaks. In their previous matchup, Wakaw beat Creighton 32-8 on September 12.
It will be a conference championship battle in St. Brieux as the Crusaders host Carrot River. The Crusaders finished the regular season undefeated (4-0) while Carrot River was in second spot at 3-1. The winner will go on to host a provincial quarterfinal game on Saturday, October 26.
Friday’s action will include the Humboldt Collegiate Institute Mohawks hosting John Paul II (North Battleford). It will be a battle for second spot, with John Paul II (3-2) ahead of the Mohawks (2-3) by one game. Kickoff is 3:45.
The other matchup will see the Viscount Vikings entertain the Hanley Sabers in a battle of undefeated teams with each team owning a 3-0 record.
