The Medicine Hat Tigers beat the Red Deer Rebels Wednesday night at Co-op Place for the first time in four tries this season with a 3-0 shut out win.
Newly acquired netminder Harrison Meneghin picked up the win for the Tigers, who ended their four-game losing skid. The Rebels have now lost two straight.
Andrew Basha opened the scoring midway through the second period beating Rebels netminder Chase Wutzke with a top-shelf one-timer.
In the third, Matt Paranych made it 2-0 putting home a rebound pass off of Wutzke’s pad from Gavin McKenna.
With just under two minutes to go, Markus Ruck found the empty net to seal the 3-0 victory.

Rebels forward Kalan Lind left the game late in the first period and did not return after taking a knee-on-knee hit from Tigers blue liner Bryce Pickford, who was given a major penalty and game misconduct on the play.
The Rebels next action is on Saturday at 2 p.m. against the Edmonton Oil Kings at Rogers Place.
