The Estevan Police Service is reminding drivers to be careful when it comes to bicyclists in the city following a collision with a minor earlier this week.
In a release dated October 8, EPS members say they responded to a vehicle-on-bicycle collision at the intersection of 4th Street and 14th Avenue shortly after 8 a.m. EMS assessed the 8-year-old who was riding the bicycle and found only minor injuries to the child.
The vehicle's driver ended up charged under the Traffic Safety Act.
The EPS reminds drivers to be cautious, especially near and inside of school zones, since the above-seasonal weather has resulted in more pedestrian and foot traffic around the city.
