Seasonable fall temperatures will come in over the weekend before being replaced by more warmth next week.

The Thanksgiving long weekend is looking to be a seasonably chilly one as the warmth we've had over the week will go away for a few days.

Environment Canada is expecting the temperatures over the weekend to be only a few degrees over the seasonal averages, compared to the 10+ degree difference felt over this week.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Stephen Berg says that the start looks like it'll be a bit more welcoming.

"Looks like a little bit of a warmer start to the weekend. Saturday looks to be a couple of degrees or a few degrees above normal with a high of about 17°. Overnight, though, the temperature does dip a bit below 0°, might be a couple of degrees cooler than the normal low. Our normal low is about -1° this time of year, but low is probably going to be around -3°."

The weekend will see its lowest daytime temperature come in on Sunday, before quickly seeing temperatures pick back up.

"The day looks to be pretty normal, with temperatures about 13°, might be a slive less. Then there's a bit of a warm-up that starts up on Monday with the highs into the mid to high teens for Monday and then up to the low 20s for Wednesday."

Along with the drop in temperatures, tonight sees a small chance of rainfall, which Berg says likely won't persist into the rest of the weekend.

"It doesn't look like it, looks to be fairly clear sailing for a few days after once this bit of cloud leaves the area tonight."

The low overnight temperatures through the weekend could mean that anyone getting in late gardening will have to watch out, says Berg.

"Saturday night and Sunday night looks to be below 0° for those days and then overnight lows look to be above 0° for a few days after that. If some people still have gardens and whatnot make sure that they cover them up and do what they need to do to protect them from the frost."
