Veteran Swift Current Broncos forward Rylan Gould has never had to deal with much of an injury before.

He's trying to stay positive after a hit knocked him out of a game in Brandon last weekend and left him week-to-week on the injured list.

"Just kind of took a little weird hit there," Gould said. "Never really been injured before, so just kind of dealing with that is something new. I'm doing well mentally and just trying to do everything I can to come back stronger than when I left.

"It's coming along as good as it can right now and just kind of being patient with that and listening to the body. Just making sure I don't re-hurt anything and whatnot. I'm excited to get back for sure."

The Broncos are in the midst of a strong run with four straight wins as they head to Regina tonight to play the Pats.

"We're definitely feeling good right now," Gould said.  "We're definitely not satisfied with it. We didn't get the start that we wanted, and we've been hammering down on our details and our pace and kind of our identity. So for us it's just sticking to that. And if we do that, I think we'll continue to like the result."

This is the first meeting of the season between the Broncos and Pats.

"They're playing well right now," Broncos assistant coach Regan Darby said of the Pats. "Divisional games are ones that you have to win. They're a team that they compete hard, they play the right way. We're going to have to be ready for them."

You can hear the game on Country 94.1 FM with Redhead Equipment and Case IH Broncos Hockey at 6:45pm.

The Broncos are back at home on Saturday night to host young phenom Landon DuPont and the Everett Silvertips.
