Another outstanding offensive performance led the Terriers to a 6-0 victory over the Swan Valley Stampeders. Offence came from throughout the lineup with four players scoring their first goal as a Terrier.

A couple penalties each way allowed some good chances, however, only Portage would capitalize. Owen Witt took a pass near the blue line and put a shot toward the net, and got a tip from Adam Belzil. His shot went just under the arm of the Stampeder goalie to make it 1-0 for Portage. That would be the only goal scored in the first period. It was the first powerplay goal Portage has scored on home ice this season.

A near goal at one end became a goal at the other, as Portage goalie Mitchell Kathler kept one that got behind him out of the goal, and then Tristan Gravenor went end to end to make the score 2-0.

Reyd Langan would tap a rebound home for his first as a Terrier just past 12 minutes played in the second frame to make it 3-0 for Portage.

Gravenor would add his second of the period on a deflection that the Swan Valley netminder hardly had sight of. 4-0 Portage.

Gravenor noted that seeing the points start coming is an encouraging sign.

"It feels good to finally get some offense generating, but the boys played well. It was great team effort today, so I'm happy about that.

Alex Thompson would score his first as a Terrier on a backhander near the goal line that extended Portage's lead to 5-0, where it would stay through the end of the second period.

The game was out of reach by the start of the third. Wyatt Dreger would add his first goal, assisted by Gravenor, to seal the deal, 6-0 for Portage.

The Terriers have now outscored their opponents 14-0 over their last two games. Mitchell Kathler has stopped 38 shots over that span, and hasn't let in a goal in 146 minutes and 37 seconds.

As soon as Dreger scored, he was mobbed by both Terriers and Stampeders, and got into a fight with one of the Stamps, and gave a shoutout to the fans.

"It was awesome, the fans here are great, it's a great atmosphere, so keep coming out to support!"

The Terriers will be off Saturday before going to Winkler for another faceoff against the Flyers on Sunday, October 13. Puck drop will be at 7:30 p.m.
