A win and a loss to start the Saskatchewan Junior Female Hockey League season for the Southwest CMX Impact.

They beat the Lumsden Lynx 4-3 in overtime on Saturday in Gull Lake, before falling 2-1 in the re-match on Sunday.

The win is a bit of history for the Impact as they went 0-17 during the inaugural season of the SJFHL. Mya Brown's first ever junior goal in her 16th league game served as the overtime winner on Saturday.

Jordyn Cooper led the way for the Southwest squad with 2 goals and an assist over the two games. 

They play three times on the road this coming weekend.

The female U15 AA Swift Current Wildcats split their games against the South East Goldwings in Weyburn winning 4-1 Saturday before falling 3-0 Sunday.

The male U18 AA Swift Current Southwest Sports Excellence Broncos also split their weekend games dropping an 8-6 score to Esteven Saturday before beating them 2-1 in overtime on Sunday. Nate Silbernagel scored the winner.

The male U15 AA Swift Current Pure Chem Broncos lost their only game of the weekend, 4-1 at home to the Sask East Oilers. They host Moose Jaw on Saturday.
