The Town of Kyle has put out a second call for nominations to fill two vacant council positions including the mayoral spot.
Five of the seven chairs for council have been filled with three returning councillors and two new councillors all being elected by acclamation.
Amber Dashney, the CAO for the Town of Kyle, said this round of nominations will be open until October 23 at 4 p.m.
"It's for your community that you're living in, so if you want to have a voice and help make those decisions this would be a good opportunity to come on and learn," she said.
The nomination process will continue in Kyle until both the seats are filled.
"I believe we would have a deputy mayor but we do have to continue to call byelections until the spots are filled," she said. "That was a new rule that came this year."
George Williams, Kyle's current mayor, is retiring from the position that he's held since November of 2021.
"He was fantastic," she said. "It's a long committment for four years, where it used to be shorter, so with his busy schedule and what he'd like to do, four years is just a bigger committment."
Incumbent councillors Dennis Hall, Darryl Harbor, and Doug Hodgins will be returning, while Denise Schneider and Rach Risi will be the two new councillors joining the table.
