The Shaunavon Shadows are off to the SHSAA 4A Nine-Aside provincial quarterfinals after their rushing game shredded the Moose Jaw Vanier Vikings defence Friday evening.

Shadows quarterback Kaleb Little put on an offensive clinic rushing for a season-high five touchdowns and throwing for two more in his team's 54-14 rout over Moose Jaw at Shaunavon's Smith Field.

"We came out, just wanted to run the ball lots and I got the ball into my hands and it seemed to work so we just stuck with it," Little told Country 94.1 post-game.

The grade 12 standout wasted no time putting the Shadows ahead in the contest converting a 32-yard run 1:11 into the game. Moose Jaw tied it at 7-7 about six minutes as receiver Kayden Anderson hauled in a 74-yard touchdown reception.

Little then took over the game scoring a 60-yard run and a 20-yard run to close out the first quarter, both times making his way through a maze of players.

"My blockers coming down the field and helping me block and get to the end zone," he said with a laugh explaining his impressive mobility.

He wasn't done there as he struck again midway through the second quarter with a 65-yard rushing touchdown making it 26-7 Shaunavon. A few minutes later he tossed for his first passing touchdown finding Beau Barton wide open for a 13-yard score.

Anderson cut the Shadows' lead to 33-14 early in the third quarter with a two-yard run before Shaunavon took off again.

Forty-nine seconds later Little connected on a 63-yard touchdown pass to receiver Grayson Arendt.

"I saw them working down on the runs so our passing game opened up and we've got good receivers to throw to," he said.

Little tacked on a 45-yard rushing touchdown and Cash Lewans joined the rushing party with a four-yard run into the end zone closing the book on the Shaunavon lopsided win.

The Shadows will head to Delisle next weekend to face the 6-0 Rebels to continue their quest for the provincial title.

"We have to execute and I think we can get the whole way," he said. "If we push each other hard enough we can get there."
