LEGIONNAIRES
Trae Peterson scored twice and had two assists as the Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires beat the Notre Dame Hounds 7-4 in male U18 AAA on Saturday.
Jace Egland had a four-point game, while Wesley Olson chipped in three assists.
Berney Weston made 26 saves in the win.
The Legionnaires are now 6-1 on the season. They have the week off as five of their players are participating in the WHL Cup.
IMPACT
In Saskatchewan Female Junior Hockey League action, Bryn Haubrich scored twice as the Southwest CMX Impact put up a good fight in a 5-4 loss to Outlook on Friday.
Desiree Bouffard and Kaileigh McCann had their other goals in the loss.
The Impact then struggled against the powerhouse Saskatoon Prairie Blaze in 15-0 and 8-0 losses on Saturday and Sunday.
They'll get another shot at Saskatoon this Saturday at home in Gull Lake.
U18 AA WILDCATS
In female U18 AA hockey, the Swift Current Full Line Ag Wildcats opened their regular season with back-to-back shutouts.
Karli Duncan made 23 saves in Saturday's 2-0 win over Prince Albert, and Bailey Fox stopped all 27 shots in Sunday's 2-0 win over the Western Prairie Thunder.
Kassie Gryde and Surrey Lamotte each had two points on the weekend.
U15 AA WILDCATS
In female U15 AA hockey, Laynee Rondeau scored and had an assist as the Swift Current Hockey Co. Wildcats fell 4-3 in overtime to the Western Prairie Thunder on Sunday.
Lacey Hudec and Ellie Weinbender also scored for Swift Current. They host the Saskatoon Comet Impact on October 27th.
U18 AA BRONCOS
In male U18 AA action, the Swift Current Southwest Sports Excellence Broncos swept two games in Weyburn 3-1 on Saturday and 4-3 on Sunday.
Jacob Penley scored twice in Saturday's win, while Dylan Hallborg and Nate Silbernagel each had a goal and two assists on Sunday.
The 3-2 Broncos are in Moose Jaw on Saturday.
U15 AA BRONCOS
Moose Jaw knocked off the Swift Current Pure Chem Broncos in male U15 AA hockey on Saturday.
Damon James, Taye Irwin and Taye Silbernagel each had two points in the loss.
U13 AA BRONCOS
In male U13 AA, the Swift Current Service Master Broncos played two close home games on the weekend.
Waylan Peno scored twice, and Damien Girardin added three helpers in a 4-4 tie against Yorkton on Saturday.
Girardin had two more points in a 4-2 loss to Prairie Storm on Sunday.
