The Estevan Police Service responded to impaired driving, a hit-and-run accident and a suspicious vehicle in the backroads to start off their week.
On Monday, EPS responded to a hit-and-run that resulted in extensive damage at a grocery store in Estevan. At this time, police are investigating the situation.
Members were also dispatched to find a possible impaired driver. After being pulled over, the driver was found to be sober.
Open alcohol was found in a vehicle parked on a Bienfait grid road near Kensington Avenue early Monday morning. A 19-year-old female driver was found to be intoxicated and refused to provide a breathe sample to the police. She was arrested and lodged in cells until she was sober. A 29-year-old male passenger was also arrested for outstanding warrants. Both were handed tickets for having open alcohol in a motor vehicle as well.
Police found a man sleeping in his car on the 700 block of 7th Street after the property owner wanted him removed from the premises. The man left without incident.
Yesterday, EPS received a report pertaining to a vehicle passing by a school bus when its stop arm and lights were activated. EPS reminds the public to be mindful of laws concerning school buses.
