A fan favourite for the Swift Current Broncos last season tallied his first career NHL point on Tuesday night.

Forward Conor Geekie assisted on the first of Brandon Hagel's three goals on the night as the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the New Jersey Devils 8-5.

Geekie scored 23 goals and 50 points in 29 games with the Broncos since coming to Swift Current in a trade deadline deal with the Wenatchee Wild and added six goals and nine points in nine playoff games. He was drafted 11th overall by the Arizona Coyotes, now the Utah Hockey Club, in 2022 and was traded to the Lightning as part of an off-season deal that sent Mikhail Sergachev to Utah.

The Lightning visit the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night. Meanwhile, the Broncos are getting set to host the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday and the Seattle Thunderbirds on Saturday.
