They've done it again.

The ECS Elecs Senior Boys Volleyball team dominated the WCS Eagles on Tuesday night, walking away as the winner of this year's Co-op Challenge alongside the senior girls team. Just like in game 1, the boys were able to sweep their rival with 33-31, 25-19, and 27-25 results respectively. Head coach Bryton Such was happy with the team's performance on the court.

"I really liked our serve reception. I think that we passed the ball really well all night, which is really good because kudos to Weyburn. They served some absolute bombs at us. They were serving really tough consistently all night. I think that we passed really well and we were able to spread out our offense well enough to keep the other block guessing."

Such noted that the boys have been in strenuous situations before, seeing that they've persevered past three provincial championship appearances. He noted that Weyburn's team was well-coached. The Eagles' young team were able to catch the Elecs off-guard by setting the ball up high and sending it back to Estevan's side with smart plays.

Even though Estevan won six games in the tournament over Weyburn, he expressed that there's one area that the boys need to lock in on. "Serving, serving, and serving. If I'm being honest, I think that we could have been a lot better on our first contact with serving. We gave up way too many missed serves, especially first serves. When you go out there at this level, you want to be aggressive, but handing the ball over on your first serve back of the line, it can be like a grenade towards your game plan."

Now, the boys are off to Regina to compete in a tournament at the Dr. Martin LeBouldous Catholic High School. Coach admits that it feels good to go into the tournament with a couple of hard-fought wins.

"We're heading into the latter half of our season here. So, for us to be going into a tournament on a win, and especially a win after the boys have put in a lot of hard work here in the past two weeks, it's good to see that momentum snowball in the right direction. Hopefully, we can use that to our advantage going into our next couple of tournaments and regionals, and then hopefully provincials if we qualify."

The boys will be competing in the tournament in Regina tonight and tomorrow.
