A tournament for two of Estevan's water polo teams is happening this weekend, showing off some of the best performances from teams across the province.
TheĀ Estevan Sharks Water Polo Tournament will see the minis, Atom boys, and Atom girls teams playing on Sunday beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Chad Knoll, a coach for the atoms teams, talks about the tournament and who'll be playing.
"It's the first tournament for the Adam Group, and the Minis starts Sunday morning. The Atom girls are first and then it goes to Minis and Atom boys are in the afternoon."
With a few former minis moving up into the Atom teams this year, Knoll is hoping older players can lead by example.
They'll have tough competition with teams coming in from all over the province.
"There's going to be players from Regina, Saskatoon, Weyburn, and I believe Humboldt might even have a couple of players come down as well."
While it will be the first tournament for these teams Knoll says that they will be ready after a good bit of practice.
"They've had their ups and downs, their trials, but all in all, I'd say it's in good practice and everyone's been trying their best and the hardest and hopefully at the tournament shows up."
Knoll says that so far the older players have shown a good amount of leadership, and he's hoping to have a big crowd for the tournament.
"Absolutely more people that come over and watch, we can hopefully, maybe get some kids interested in it if they show up and watch it."
