A pair of teams in the region have advanced to the Semifinals in the Provincial playoffs in high school football, while a few squads seasons came to an end on Saturday.
The Wakaw Warriors advanced to the semifinals with a 66-53 win over Unity. Wakaw will host Southey in the semifinal on Saturday in the 2A category of six-man football.
It was also a successful Saturday for the St. Brieux Crusaders, who defeated Kerrobert 58-14 in their quarterfinal matchup. St. Brieux will be on the road for the semifinals in 1A of six-man football as they will head to Hanley.
Both Wakaw and St. Brieux have guaranteed themselves at least two more games. The losers of the semifinals will face off in a bronze medal game in both 2A and 1A categories of six-man football.
In nine-man football, the Humboldt Mohawks were defeated by the Lumsden Devils 59-7 and were eliminated from contention.
The Watrous Wildcats season came to an end at the hands of Southey 42-33.
The Wynyard Bears also finished their season on Saturday with a 60-21 defeat against Clavet.
