The Humboldt Broncos will return to home ice as they entertain the La Ronge Ice Wolves on Tuesday night.

Tonight’s matchup will mark the final time the Ice Wolves will play in Humboldt, in the first encounter of the season, the Broncos blanked the Ice Wolves with a shutout from Humboldt’s Brady Holtvogt on October 19.

The Broncos will finish off their season series with the Ice Wolves with a pair of games in La Ronge next month (Nov. 22 & 23).

Humboldt is coming off a weekend split at the Whitney Forum in Flin Flon. The Broncos opened the trip with a 4-3 win before they were defeated 2-1 on Saturday in the rematch.

Jeter Korte was the only Bronco player to score in both contests, bumping his total to three on the season.

Heading into the first quarter mark of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) season, there isn’t much separation for the top three teams in the Nutrien Division, with the Kindersley Klippers leading the Broncos and the Battleford North Stars by a point. The Broncos and North Stars both have one game in hand on the Klippers.

The Broncos are hopeful to have a healthy Edouard Gauthier back in the lineup, the 20-year-old netminder left Saturday’s loss against Flin Flon. After the game, Broncos Assistant Coach Carter Hansen said the team is hoping that it’s not a long-term ailment for the goalie.

Tuesday’s game is also the Halloween game for the Broncos. Fans are encouraged to wear their favourite NHL jersey to the game. They can also enter in a draw for an autographed Broncos jersey signed by Jason Aldean, The Bellamy Brothers and Colt Ford.

Coverage of the Broncos and Ice Wolves begins at 6:45 on Bolt FM, with the opening faceoff at 7:00.
