Everett Hindley will return to the legislature in Regina as Swift Current's MLA.
The most recent Minister of Health has been elected in this constituency for a third time.
"A huge thank you to the people of Swift Current who supported myself and the Saskatchewan Party in this election," Hindley said. "Just honoured and grateful again to be chosen to serve as the MLA for this great constituency. Looking forward to building on some of the things we've been working on as a government not just across the province, but here right in this community. Just so very grateful to the people for their support."
With 11 of 13 polls reporting Hindley leads with 3606 votes, Jay Kimball of the NDP has 1572, Constance Maffenbeir of the Buffalo Party has 172 and George Watson of the Green Party sits at 78.
"Seeing the numbers come in and it is much tighter than it has been," Hindley said. "We knew that going into this election given that we're going for a fifth term which hasn't happened since the 1960s. We'll continue to watch other parts of the province and hope to build on the number of seats we've won already."
We will update this story with further comments from Hindley and other candidates.
