A familiar face has been voted as Estevan-Big Muddy's MLA as Lori Carr has won the first count in the provincial election.
Carr had another dominating performance in the area, with another above 60 per cent vote total.
With the next four years open for her, Carr says she's excited to get back to work.
"I mean, it's really exciting to see that we have another mandate for a four-year term for the Saskatchewan Party and I'm excited to get back to work and start working on what the next four years looks like for our province and our constituency."
The rest of the Sask Party didn't fare as well as Carr, with the overall seat count dropping from 48 seats to 35.
Premier Scott Moe says that the party will look to improve their governance and work harder for the province's people, which Carr agrees with.
"When you have a government that's had the opportunity to serve for 17 years and you're asking for a fifth mandate, you do know that you're going to see some change and I think as we move forward, we need to reflect on what that seat count looks like and where those seats are and do our best job at instilling confidence and getting some of those seats back next time around."
Carr did so well in the election last night that she got more votes and a bigger vote share than last year, with 703 more votes and a 7.5 per cent increase in vote share.
With at least four more years in the office, Carr believes that they'll be able to do good work for the province.
"I think the next four years are going to be very exciting for the province of Saskatchewan. We do have some work to do when it comes to healthcare and education, and we're committed to doing that work as well for the constituency of Estevan. You know, seeing exactly what that future looks like for us for energy production."
