The Saskatchewan Party found success in the southeast corner following the first count of the election, with their candidates receiving the ridings of Estevan-Big Muddy, Cannington, and Moosomin-Martre.

In Cannington, Daryl Harrison won reelection after first being elected back in 2020.

With a near-identical vote share as in 2020, Harrison says that he's happy to see the support from the community.

"I'm very appreciative and encouraged by the support I received. I truly appreciate the constituents at Cannington. I can't say enough how humbled and honoured I am to be able to represent them for another four years."

While Harrison did come out on top in Cannington, the Saskatchewan Party as a whole took some hits, losing 13 ridings.

Harrison states that they'll have to reconnect with more of the province.

"We did well in some urban ridings around the province, but we did, you know, fall short in Saskatoon and Regina by the looks of things and we have work to do."

With healthcare and education two of the biggest factors for voters, Harrison says that's where much of the Saskatchewan Party will be focused.

"Healthcare and education are always top priorities for any government and we will continue to work towards recruiting and retaining healthcare workers. That's paramount that we get the professionals in place to maintain our health healthcare system."

"On the education side, it's in binding arbitration right now and it will be resolved and we will support pre-K to 12 education to the expectations of our government."

Sitting in the seat for another four years, Harrison says that he's got plenty to do.

"There's always, always work to do. As you mentioned, healthcare and education are at the top of those. But there's also highways and other issues that come up certainly oil and ag are two drivers of our provincial economy as well as mining. We're looking at lithium and helium, produce similar to oil and gas. So we'll look forward to seeing that expansion as well and then critical minerals are going to be paramount for the future of Saskatchewan and in particular northern Saskatchewan."

The final results of the provincial election will be announced after the last counts on November 9.
