Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit officers observed a repeat offender known to have warrants leaving a vehicle on a street in Wetaskiwin on Oct. 27.  

The suspect was approached and advised he was under arrest.   

The suspect resisted, but was eventually arrested. 

A search of the suspect and vehicle revealed:  

  • 129 grams of Methamphetamine;  

  • 3.5 grams of fentanyl;  

  • 25 grams cocaine;  

  • 3 ounces of GHB;  

  • $6500 in cash.  

 RCMP have charged 29-year-old Wetaskiwin resident Daniel Golub with:  

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x4);  

  • Possession of the proceeds of crime;  

  • Resist arrest;  

  • Fail to comply with release order (x2) as a result of July 7, 2024, drug trafficking charges where he was released from custody with conditions.  

Golub was taken before a Justice of the peace and remanded into custody with his next court date set for Nov. 19, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin.
