All in all, most trick-or-treaters, and their parents, will be happy with the Halloween forecast.
"It should be fairly mild today. We're not expecting much in the way of precipitation or anything," said Environment Canada Meteorologist Heather Rombough. "For the Central Alberta area, the high is around zero for today. It will be chilly enough for mitts probably but not too cold and no snow or anything which sometimes is a problem around this time of year."
As for the wind, that shouldn't be much of an issue.
"Just a light east wind, nothing too much," she added. "There will be some fog around in the morning but by the evening it should be gone."
Rombough notes the temperature should stay near zero around supper time, or a few degrees lower once the sun goes down. It will feel like minus six with the windchill this evening.
The overnight low is around minus 10, however, Rombough says with the moisture in the air it has been staying warmer overnight.
The normal daytime high for this time of year is plus five degrees.
