St. Joseph's Hospital is looking for new ways to improve its service to the community with a survey being sent out.
The survey asks people to tell the hospital what kind of improvements in equipment or service could be made.
Executive Director Candace Kopec explained what they hope to accomplish through the survey.
"We've been doing a lot with improving workplace culture within the hospital and so we're just really looking at getting the community voice. It's always been important for us to serve the community, but we are committed to making improvements based on what the community is looking at, what they feel the improvements need to be."
While there are a number of topics Kopec thinks she might hear about she's still looking forward to hearing about areas to improve in the community.
"It's really important to hear from the community. There's a number of items that we've heard about, some of the services since the time that I've been here. So we're giving the community an opportunity to write down some of those ideas that we could make it better, but I don't want to guess what's important to the community. I really do want to wait to see what the community feels that we have to improve on."
The information that is gathered will go towards a number of uses at the hospital, says Kopec.
"It will be used in a number of ways, first of all, the way we're disseminating it is in a number of ways to really get the best feedback. We want as many people to fill out the survey as we can so we know that is really, truly is how the community feels."
"But we're looking at taking that information, identifying the schemes and those priority areas, and then we're looking at forming a few community groups to really discuss some of those opportunities better and to come up with some objectives for how we can make those improvements."
There are several ways to fill out the survey, including a QR code and physical papers available at the hospital.
Kopec says that the survey is fully anonymous, with an option to leave a name, with a deadline of November 22.
