A pair of Humboldt seniors have received recognition in the Celebrating Seniors Provincial Volunteer Awards.
Two volunteers were nominated by the community for the Awards, Carol Oleksyn and Joan Jackson. Jackson won an Intergenerational Award which is given to a senior who inspires and creates positive interactions between generations.
The awards were put on by the Saskatchewan Seniors Mechanism. The SSM is a non-profit volunteer organization that acts as an umbrella to bring together Saskatchewan seniors’ organizations to contribute to a better quality of life for our province’s older adults.
The member organizations of the Saskatchewan Seniors Mechanism are provincial and local seniors' groups consisting of more than 100,000 seniors throughout the province.
The nominations were made by Westminster United Church. Congratulations go out to Joan for her win and Carol for the nomination.
