Three members of the Humboldt Broncos have been selected to represent the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) at the Western All-Star Showcase in Warman.
Forwards Jacob Strizzi and Conner Miller along with defenceman Oakley McIlwain will be a part of the SJHL team that will be competing against players from the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
The All-Star Showcase, an event that replaces the annual event that featured the SJHL teams competing in one venue, will be a selection camp for the players. 20 players will be named to the Canada West selection camp for the World Junior “A” Challenge, which will be held in Calgary at the end of the month.
Both the SJHL and MJHL teams will practice on Monday and Tuesday before competing in a game on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning in Warman.
With the showcase going on this week, the SJHL’s regular season schedule is paused until Friday.
