Southeast Saskatchewan's civic elections acclamations for many councils, with a few key races still to be decided on November 13.

With civic elections just around the corner on Nov. 13, most southeast Saskatchewan communities have filled their council positions by acclamation. However, a few communities still face contested races, allowing voters to shape their local leadership.

Here’s a snapshot of the ongoing municipal elections:

Alameda: Michelle Kreiger was acclaimed as mayor, with Brad Betté, Matthew Faber, Angela Millar, and Kirsten Tanghe also acclaimed as councillors. Two council seats remain vacant.

Arcola: Scott Tessier was acclaimed as mayor, with councillors Elaine Hislop, Mike Boulet, Shelia Sim, Geordan Workman, Jennifer Wotta, and Mike Waechli acclaimed.

Bienfait: Ken Bonokoski was acclaimed as mayor. Voters will elect six councillors from David Johnson, Deidra Maurer, Dennis Gonas, Paul Carroll, Melissa Rensby, Daniyale Woolsey, and Bill Mann.

Carlyle: Jennifer Sedor was acclaimed as mayor. Councillors Hugh Hislop, Gord Paulley, John Brownless, Kelly Lutz, and Lauren Hume were acclaimed, while the final council seat will be contested between Mary Moffat and Tracy Van Dresar.

Carnduff: Ross Apperley was acclaimed as mayor, with councillors Kelly Exner, Shawn Larson, Linda Powell, Joel Purves, Randy Swayze, and Gregory Wall also acclaimed.

Kisbey: Voters will elect a mayor between Elisa Jackson and Kevin St. John, along with four councillors from John Dayman, Randy Graham, Kalvin Nankivell, Brody Singleton, and Sheldon Wyatt.

Lampman: Scott Greening and Jay (John) Jones are running for mayor. The council candidates include Jadon Carnduff, Randy Fleck, Tanner Frycz, Steven Massel, Mark Morrisette, Twyla Quantril, R.J. (Roy) Raynard, Daryl Runge, Ryan Saxon, Dena Scott, Ian Stewart, Kelly Storlie, and Garrett Woodley.

Midale: Al Hauglum was acclaimed as mayor. Eight candidates—Melissa Brady, Mona Ganje, Armond Hauglum, Clinton Lund, Gregg Prawdzik, Sylvia Teichgraber, Ryan Thompson, and Willy Wieler—are competing for six council seats.

North Portal: Amy Armstrong was acclaimed as mayor, with councillors Amy Belitski, Callie Fair, and Chase Buchanan also acclaimed.

Oxbow: Doug Pierce was acclaimed as mayor. Six councillors will be elected from Derek Adams, Philip Amosah, Amy Backstrom, Mark Barnes, James Fonstad, Kim Friesen, John Hutfloetz, Brad Mayer, Derrick Menzies, Starr Mercer, Sylvia Mohrbutter, Alison Nicholls, Donna Nyeste, Rodrigo Rabanal, Calvin Rosenthal, Ken Swanson, and Orlando Vistal.

Redvers: Brad Bulbuck was acclaimed as mayor. Councillors Owen Gavelin, Donna Gilbertson, Ken Thomas, Jeremy Kamp, and Dawn Eilers were acclaimed, with one seat remaining vacant.

Stoughton: Stefan Clark and Tyson Slater are competing for mayor, while councillors Kim Butler, Anthony Campbell, Shirley Coderre, Brad Gervais, Chris Griffin, and Cory Ohrling were acclaimed.

Torquay: Terry Malaryk was acclaimed as mayor, with councillors Mark Mason, Richard Grabauskas, Derrick Kardos, and Travis Cassin also acclaimed.

Wawota: A mayoral race is set between Kevin Kay and Shawn Murray, while 11 candidates—Kitty Alexander, Allan Bunz, Joel Carpenter, Marley Drumm, Jordan Eithier, Brandon Harper, Corbin Klein, Dwayne Linder, Nolan Murray, and Ken Robertson—are vying for six councillor positions.
