The defending gold medalists from Ontario Red got the better of Saskatchewan 5-2 today at the Hockey Canada U18 Women's National Championship in New Brunswick.

Defenceman Rayna Hennie and right winger Raela Packet of the Swift Current Innovation Federal Credit Union are suiting up for Saskatchewan.

Ontario built leads of 3-0 and 4-1. Saskatchewan was twice able to cut those leads to two goals but couldn't catch up to the Ontario squad that has won the event thirteen out of fourteen times.

Saskatchewan plays Alberta tomorrow to wrap up preliminary round action.

The Wildcats are home to Notre Dame on Wednesday. You can hear that game on Country 94.1 FM with Local Sports Live.
