The Red Deer Rebels won their second straight beating Calgary Monday night 3-2 at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

With the win, Red Deer has taken over top spot in WHL Central Division.

The Rebels opened the scoring at 2:31 of the first as Evan Smith netted his first of the season.

The Hitman went up 2-1 heading into the third with goals by Rylan Ng and Carter Yakemchuk.

Red Deer would complete the comeback with goals by Jace Weir and Jaxon Fuder in the third.

Both teams had 40 shots on net. The Rebels were 0-for-2 on the power play while the Hitmen were 0-for-4.

Up next, Red Deer heads south to face the Wenatchee Wild on Friday. Puck drop is at 8 p.m. MT.
