Two hundred thirty-five Lakers filled out the Resident Priorities 2025 Budget Survey. Top priorities included rising property taxes, a lack of transparency in budgeting, and a perceived bias towards tourism over local needs. There is a strong desire for improved infrastructure, especially recreational facilities, and a call for more equitable distribution of resources. View the results
Council and staff are now beginning to work on the budget after receiving the draft 2025 budget presentation from administration.
Once Council approves a draft budget, the budget brochure will be posted at engage.sylvanlake.ca/2025-budget
The brochure summarizes the budget and is usually released in January
The Budget Open House is scheduled for January 29, 2025.
