The first significant snowfall system of the fall is moving through the southwest and is expected to increase its intensity Tuesday afternoon into the evening.
Mix precipitation in the Swift Current area was minimal overnight but the plummetting temperatures have now been met with snowfall.
Danielle Desjardins, a meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada, said Swift Current could collect about two to four centimetres by the end of Tuesday.
"Definitely more over the higher terrain in that Cypress Hills or Leader region," she said.
Cypress Hills could see up to 15 centimetres by tomorrow morning as a low-pressure system swoops in from Alberta.
"Make sure to give yourself a bit of extra time on the roads, they could get slippery," she said. "Make sure to bundle up, it's one of the colder days this fall."
Winds will also increase with the storm creating potential gusts upwards of 60 kilometres an hour.
