The Drayton Valley RCMP with assistance from Rocky Mountain House officers arrested Shayde Beaverbone of Hinton for dangerous driving, stolen property, and more.

On Nov. 2, around 5 p.m., the Drayton Valley RCMP attempted a traffic stop for dangerous driving on Highway 620 in Brazeau County, but the suspect fled.   

The vehicle was reported to have been stolen and was seen by witnesses tailgating and driving at excess speeds of 150 km/hr.   

During the investigation, the vehicle was abandoned, and the driver was seen attempting to flee from officers into a wooded area.   

Numerous police resources including officers from Rocky Mountain House, the K Division Police Dog Services, and the K Division Emergency Response Team were deployed.  

The driver, Shayde Beaverbone, a 24-year-old male resident of Hinton was arrested and has been charged with:  

  • Dangerous driving;  

  • Fail to stop for a police officer;  

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000;  

  • Possession of a prohibited weapon and several other firearms-related offences.  

  • Resist arrest /obstruct a Peace Officer.  

 Beaverbone was taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded with his next court appearance set for today (Nov. 5), at the Alberta Court of Justice in Drayton Valley.
