Eldo Mervyn Schmidt of Moose Jaw passed away on November 8, 2024, at the age of 78. Born in Gravelbourg, he grew up on the family farm near Ernfold, SK. He attended Charlotte Rural School to grade 7, attending high school in Morse where he achieved his grade 12. He came to Moose Jaw in 1965 and worked several jobs, the longest one being for the Moose Jaw Public School board for 32.5 years, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed travelling and camping with his wife Marion. His hobbies included model building, stamp and coin collecting as well as metal detecting in his earlier years. He leaves to mourn his wife Marion of 38.5 years and pet cat Booty Baby; two brothers Ralph (Helen) of Saskatoon, Murray (Marlene) of Regina; two nephews; one niece as well as numerous cousins and friends. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 10:30am at Rosedale Cemetery. For those wishing to attend please be at the gates before 10:15am. Karry Varcoe will officiate.
