The Cochrane RCMP detachment will hold two significant media briefings on Wednesday morning, addressing recent developments in human trafficking and drug enforcement cases.

In a notable first session, Sgt. Matt Pumphrey of the Cochrane General Investigation Section will provide updates on recent human trafficking charges. Accompanying him will be country music artist and advocate Paul Brandt, founder of Not in My City.

Since its launch in 2017, Brandt's organization has worked to combat human trafficking and sexual exploitation through awareness campaigns and advocacy. Brandt is also co-chair of The Alberta Center to End Trafficking in Persons and will be on hand to answer questions from the media.

The second session will feature Sgt. Darrin Turnbull of the Alberta RCMP Traffic Unit; who will discuss a major recent drug seizure conducted by the Roving Traffic Unit, underscoring the RCMP’s ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in Alberta.
