Southwest residents and visitors of Cypress Hills are advised that the park will be closing their hot tub and sauna for the winter.
Royce Pettyjohn, park manager for Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, noted that after much consideration, the hot tub and sauna will be closed for the season to focus more on other services.
"The hot tub and sauna were well received the last couple of winter seasons," he said. "We've decided not to offer them this season after carefully considering the increased operational maintenance and safety demands of providing this experience during the cold winter months."
A plethora of other family-friendly activities will still be available to visitors of the park including snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and the annual New Year's toboggan party.
"We continue to explore the best ways to offer experiences that balance the interests of our visitors and park operations each year" explained Pettyjohn. "Every year we evaluate our service offer and align that with our operational objectives."
