RCMP are looking for a female suspect following a bear spray attack at the Sylvan Lake Walmart that occurred on Oct. 21.

Police say the woman had placed several items inside her cart and was attempting to leave the store without paying.

The suspect ultimately discharged the bear spray on an 80-year-old male greeter and a 56-year-old female customer service staff member before leaving the store with the stolen items.

EMS arrived on the scene and treated both individuals.

When RCMP officers arrived they learned that the female suspect had also stolen items from the nearby Dollarama. She had also threatened to use the bear spray at Dollarama but did not.

The suspect is described as having short black hair, a medium complexion, white toque with a large white pompom, and wearing a jacket with several patches (believed to be stolen from Walmart).

RCMP have video surveillance of the suspect but are waiting to obtain a high-quality photo before releasing it to the public.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist the victims.
