Five of the six candidates elected will be familiar faces after being elected to Moose Jaw City Councillors on Wednesday night. 

Winning seats on Moose Jaw City Council were Jamey Logan, Patrick Boyle, Chris Warren, Heather Eby, Dawn Luhning and Carla Delaurier 

Jamey Logan was re-elected as the top vote-getter with 4,382 votes. This will be Logan’s second term on city council. He was first elected in 2020. 

Patrick Boyle finished second in voting with 3,662 votes. This will be Boyle’s second stint on city council. He is returning after serving as a councillor from 2012 to 2016. 

Another former city councillor, Chris Warren, finished third in voting with 2,666 votes. Warren sat on city council from 2016-2020. But, after missing out on a term, he will be returning back to city council. 

Long-time city councillor Heather Eby finished fourth with 2,574 votes. Eby was first elected to city council in 2009 and served three terms. She lost her seat in the 2016 municipal election, but returned to city council in the 2018 by-election with Coun. Don Mitchell retired. 

Another long-time councillor is also gained re-election. Dawn Luhning finished fifth with 2,523 votes. Luhning was first elected to city council back in 2003 and has been elected for a seventh term. 

Taking the sixth and final seat at the council table is newcomer Carla Delaurier with 2,516 votes. Delaurier has lived in Moose Jaw for over 45 years, owning businesses and rental properties. 

In total, 24 candidates ran for the six city council seats in Wednesday night’s election. The results are unofficial. A declaration of the official election results will be released by the city on Friday at 11 a.m. 

The new mayor and city council will be sworn in at a special council meeting on Monday at 4 p.m. in council chambers.
