Ponoka's Enchanted Forest Festival of Trees is back again this year from Nov. 21- 23 at the Stagecoach Saloon (Stampede Grounds).

The event will kick-off with an Open House Viewing of Trees on Nov. 21 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. This will give people a chance to get a first look at the trees and browse the Christmas Treasure Gift Shop. Cash donations will be accepted as well as donations for the food bank.

On Nov. 22, a Seniors Christmas Tea will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 and that gets you an afternoon of live entertainment, prize draws, a silent auction, and refreshments.

The Opening Night Gala & Auction takes place on the evening of Nov. 22. Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $65 and are available online or by calling 403-597-1054. The event will feature live auctioneers, entertainment, and dinner.

Family Day will take place on Nov. 23, with doors opening at 9 a.m. Tickets are $5 each and are available at the Stagecoach Saloon. This will include a visit from Santa, petting zoo, bouncy castle, entertainment and much more.

The Festival of Trees will wrap up with the Guys & Gals Dance on Nov. 23 from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets are $65 each and are available online or by calling 403-597-1054.

Proceeds from the festival benefit the Ponoka Hospital and Care Center and the Ponoka Community Health Center.

"This year we're fundraising for the helipad," said event coordinator Diane Rose. "Other years we raised money for equipment, whatever needs to be done around the hospital area and long-term care in the hospital."

Rose explained who decorates the trees.

"We have volunteers that come in and we put the trees all together. There will be 13 trees this year to auction off and to sell."

Rose says they have close to 100 volunteers that help make the Festival of Trees a success including 4-H members, cadets, and Girl Guides.
