On Oct. 31, two Red Deer residents were arrested for their involvement in a stolen vehicle incident.   

The Red Deer RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, with the assistance from Red Deer RCMP General Duty officers, the Downtown Patrol Unit, and Police Dog Services located and apprehended the two individuals.  

At approximately 3:27 p.m., officers identified a stolen vehicle located at a business in downtown Red Deer.   

When officers arrived, the passenger of the vehicle attempted to flee the scene but was taken into custody following a pursuit on foot.   

The driver of the vehicle was also arrested.  

Saleem El-Majzoub, a 39-year-old resident of Red Deer, has been charged with the following: 

  • Driving with no insurance  

  • Driving with no registration  

  • Driving with an unauthorized plate  

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000  

  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000  

  • Failure to comply with a release order  

  • Possession of a controlled substance x3  

  • Dangerous driving  

  • Driving while prohibited  

  • Flight from police  

  • Resisting arrest  

  • Fraudulent concealment  

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose  

 El-Majzoub was scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on Nov. 4.  

Anthony Deck, a 31-year-old resident of Red Deer, has been charged with:

  • Resisting arrest  

  • Theft under $5,000  

Deck appeared in the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on Nov. 4.
