Rural municipalities saw a wave of election activity this week, with several tight races shaping local leadership.

In the R.M. of Argyle No. 1, John Ryckman was elected reeve with 102 votes, while the councillors for Divisions 1, 3, and 5 were acclaimed previously.

In the R.M. of Enniskillen No. 3, a fiercely contested three-way race for Division 1 councillor saw Yvonne Douglas edge out Leslie Logue by just five votes, securing 27 votes to Logue's 22.

Arnie Jahn was elected reeve for the R.M. of Coalfields No. 4, with Heather Brokenshire named Division 1 councillor.

Jack Wilson claimed the Division 5 councillor seat in the R.M. of Moose Mountain No. 63, while the positions for reeve and councillors in Divisions 1 and 3 were acclaimed previously.

The R.M. of Brock No. 64 saw Gregory Johnston win the Division 5 councillor seat with 20 votes, while in the R.M. of Storthoaks No. 31, Bernard Poirier won with 14 of the 17 votes cast.

In the R.M. of Mount Pleasant, Rebecca Scott narrowly defeated Terry McFarlane in the Division 3 race, securing 25 votes to McFarlane's 23.

In other municipalities, councils or reeves were selected by acclamation with no contested races earlier this month.
