Anneka Aspaas scored her second of the game as the Battlefords Sharks overcame a Swift Current comeback for a 3-2 win in overtime on Saturday.

It was a battle of the top two teams in the Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA Hockey League at a neutral site in Rosetown.

Maggie Rauckman and Aspas scored for the Sharks in the first period as they took an early lead.

The Innovation Federal Credit Union Wildcats' comeback started with a shorthanded goal from Team Saskatchewan forward Raela Packet early in the third period.

Swift Current then outshot the Sharks 10-5 in the third period before breaking through with 5 seconds left in regulation. 

Kaylee Williams' power play goal forced extra time and secured a single point for her Wildcats.

Ashley Vezeau made 17 saves before taking the loss in overtime.

The Wildcats are three points behind the Sharks for top spot in the league standings, but the Battlefords have two games in hand.

Swift Current is in Saskatoon on Tuesday.

They aren't back home until December 7th and 8th when they have a re-match with the Sharks.
