Dave Elliott is embracing his new role on city council with a blend of humor and determination. As he prepares for his official swearing-in ceremony, Elliott is already focused on how he can best serve his community.
When asked about his initial reaction to being elected, Elliott candidly admitted, "I thought, this is either going to be really great or I'm an idiot."
Throughout his campaign, Elliott’s straightforward approach was one of the key aspects that resonated with voters. "I’ve stated that my approach will be looking towards needs before wants," he explained. "I think people like that."
Elliott is still in the process of navigating the responsibilities of council, but he is committed to understanding the demands that come with the role. "I'm just trying to figure out all of the, I guess, demands that being on council will be making of me. So I really don’t know what I'm going to look forward to yet," he shared.
Recognized for his straightforward approach, Elliot confirmed that this style will remain a key aspect of his time on the council, emphasizing that honesty and directness will guide his decision-making.
He expressed his gratitude to his supporters, acknowledging their trust in him with appreciation for their votes and the support they had shown throughout the election.
As he looks ahead to his first official council meeting, Elliott is ready to take on the challenges of his new role with determination and a commitment to putting the community's needs first.
The swearing-in ceremony will take place on Friday afternoon at city hall.
