The Eagle Sky Estevan Bruins took a pair of wins over the weekend, giving themselves their first pair of wins over a weekend in a while.
Estevan previously only had one win in November, beating the Melville Millionaires on the 8th.
Now with the 3-2 win on Friday and the 1-0 overtime win on Saturday, Head Coach Jason Tatarnic says he's seeing some good results from the team.
"We had two wins over the weekend, so pretty important for us and you know I thought we played really well and played really well defensively and it was a good week of practice. We changed a few things and you know, working on our penalty kill and D-zone quite a bit. So it was nice to see the guys execute."
As the first three months of the season are nearly over, Tatarnic says he's gettingĀ
"Stay with the process, you know, just try and get better every week and then we got two more important games this weekend. Our goals are getting to playoff position and to get that, we just have to keep getting some wins here. We have some games in hand and we have a plan for those."
Their next games will see the team going on the road to take on Notre Dame on Friday and another game on Saturday at home against Weyburn.
Tatarnic says he's looking forward to the games and how both will present unique challenges.
"We're on the road to play Notre Dame. That game's in Carlyle and then it's a quick turn around and we play Weyburn. You know we're preparing for two different teams and definitely play two different styles. So it's going to be a busy week."
