Two people are dead following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 4, approximately eight kilometres north of North Battleford, Sask., on Friday evening.
Battlefords RCMP responded to the crash at around 6:30 p.m., along with local fire crews and EMS. Investigators determined a car and a truck collided.
The driver and passenger of the car, a 35-year-old man from North Battleford and a 35-year-old woman from Douglas, Sask., were pronounced dead at the scene by EMS. Police say their families have been notified.
The driver of the truck, who was the vehicle’s sole occupant, was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Battlefords RCMP, with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist, continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
